Hi,

I think this is not a problem of the mail.dll component but maybe you can answer my question.

We have made a service to monitor mailboxes with the mail.dll component.

First example.

  1. We configure a mail account that uses IMAP and Idle to monitor the Inbox.
  2. Start the service.
  3. We forward a email to the configured mail account.
  4. The Idle method reacts within a second very fast!!!

Second example.

  1. We configure a mail account that uses IMAP and Idle to monitor a folder in the mail account
  2. Start the service.
  3. We copy and paste a mail into the configured folder and wait
  4. Idle command reacts but it takes 15 to 20 seconds

What could cause this delay or is this normal behaviour. Our mail server is a Microsoft Exchange Server

Greetings,

Martijn

I'm afraid this is how the server reacts.

IDLE code in Mail.dll is no different regardless of which folder you monitor.

Ok thanks for the very fast reply. Have you heard of this behaviour before?
No, never - sorry.
